Program Description

Our drug and alcohol rehabilitation and recovery programs combine spiritual, educational and practical solutions to the disease of drug and alcohol addiction. We believe rehabilitation and recovery is not just about the individual, but about how the individual experiences the world at large and other people. To this end, we have developed a proprietary 7 faceted program.

The Heptagon was an Ancient Greek symbol of stability and completeness. It is firmly grounded but still reaches for the sky.

12-Step Program Progression

A small group and one-on-one protocol that gives clients the opportunity to take all 12 of the 12 steps of recovery is the cornerstone of our drug and alcohol rehabilitation and recovery. This component will also include an overview of the history of AA and other 12 step programs, an overview of the concept of a higher power in various world cultures, guidance and encouragement regarding seeking and attending 12-step meetings of AA, NA, etc., instruction on how to act, speak, and reach out at 12 step meetings, and guidance regarding finding and selecting critical aspects of AA/NA such as a home group and a sponsor. In working the 12 steps as part of treatment, ABL does not intend to supplant the normal sponsor-sponsee relationship of 12 step programs, but to rather provide the client with a “test run” of the 12 steps in a safe, comfortable environment, thus significantly facilitating working the 12 steps a second time with a traditional sponsor.

Physical Health Awareness and Activities

One of the most obvious symptoms and costs of drug and alcohol addiction is the deterioration of an individual’s physical health and his interest in taking care of his body. At A Better Life Recovery, we emphasize restoration of physical health through exercise and proper nutrition. Plus there is little doubt that physical health and a mental sense of well-being go hand in hand. It is said after all that 80% of the benefit of exercise is for the brain.

Pursuit of Healthy and Fun Pastimes

ABLR will drive home the critical point that drug and alcohol addiction recovery and long term sobriety is not a glum affair, in fact it’s the exact opposite! Sobriety offers the ability to truly experience "life", friends, family, sports, arts, old passions and interests or newly discovered interests that arise. Through sobriety our clients will again enjoy these things that once filled their lives with joy and fulfillment. It will open doors for new passions without the reliance on outside substances to enjoy these natural pleasures and motivators. Sobriety offers a new and better design for living that leads to countless opportunities for simple, healthy fun – experiences universally blotted out by active drug and alcohol addiction.
